One of my favorite muses is the dollar tree skeleton that lived on top of my Christmas tree back in 2020. You'll see lots of photographs and drawings of various skeletons- they're all him. They're all Benny. I will spend hours drawing him.
Not too long ago, Benny got knocked off from a very high shelf, and his arm popped off. Sometimes I have a little sling for him, sometimes the arm sits in his lap- eventually, I'm sure I'll glue it back. But for now? It's okay to show our age, show our bruises, our little injuries that we carry with us to prove how far we've made it.
